Before you start making any changes, there are several requirements you have to meet:\u2022 You need to have a registered avatar name.\u2022 The desired avatar name needs to be unique (i.e., two accounts can\u2019t share the same name).\u2022 There needs to have been at least seven days since your last username update.\u2022 You have enough Name Change Tokens.Name Change Tokens are essential if you want to change your Avatar name. You can get them from the IMVU store. Here\u2019s how to do it:1.\u00a0Log in to your IMVU account.2.\u00a0Open the \u201cCredits\u201d tab in the menu bar above.3.\u00a0Choose \u201cBuy Credits\u201d from the drop-down menu.4.\u00a0Click the little check box next to the \u201cGet a New Name\u201d upgrade. Underneath the text, you'll see the price. It's usually around $12.99 unless there's a special offer.5.\u00a0Choose a payment plan. There are several options available. You can use your credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, JCB) or Pay Pal. Select \u201cMore Payment Options\u201d for an alternative method.6.\u00a0Click \u201cCheckout.\u201d7.\u00a0A new window will appear. Enter the required billing information. However, since September 2016, it\u2019s no longer allowed.One of the few instances where you don't have to use NC Tokens is to upgrade to a Premium Name. It's a relatively recent feature that enables you to create unique avatar names with three characters or less.
